Matasiete Hill’s strategic location served to the Guaquerie Indians as a hidden place from Spaniards. It was once the site of Guaiqueries Indians war against the Spanish forces in 1817. The hill is 600 Mts. tall and was decreed Natural Monument on February 27, 1974. Location: north-east from La Asuncion.
